ROB Ministries teams up with Hot 97.5 to cast its nets PDF  | Print |  E-mail

While most ministry leaders claim his or her goal is to win souls, the activities practiced outside of worship service and Bible study are usually geared toward other ministries – they fellowship together, they celebrate each other, and the saved continues to be saved inside the walls of the church.


Pastor Ontiwaun Carter, pastor of Restorer of the Breach Ministries (ROB), has jumped off the cliff and is aiming straight for the battlefield - judging by his methods of reaching the un-churched.  The out-of-the-box preacher invited Hot 97.5 KVEG Las Vegas, a known rhythm and blues and hip hop radio station to join the church in its outreach mission of collecting food for the homeless last month.


“First of all, we’re trying to reach people who need Jesus,” Pastor Carter said. “For every person who came to our church because they heard we were collecting food that day, that was a chance for us to minister. They found out where we were, they were able to help in the food drive and maybe we said or did something to provoke them to come back,” he said. “What better place to cast our net?”


“It is a radical season that is calling for radical measures,” said Carter, an unconventional, hard-core leader. “I believe that God places people and opportunities in the path of His people to be used for His Glory. I thank God for Hot 97 and the crew; they came and put it down for Christ.”


The Hot 97.5 Mobile Messenger parked its blazing orange and red van in the parking lot of Eastern and Sunset in front of the ROB facilities and played music for nearly four hours while the church members collected non-perishable food items and donations to feed the homeless and other less fortunate families during this holiday season.


Between songs, Pastor Carter and First Lady Lusha Carter had the privilege of broadcasting the efforts of the church live, and made several open announcements for listeners to come and visit the church and bring food items to help with the mission project. “We support our pastor in all his efforts,” the First Lady proclaimed. “I know that he is led by God and I take my position in following him seriously. We were able to reach a community of people that we may never see in the congregation. But if and when they’re looking for a church, ROB will come to their minds. It’s all about planting seed,” she
