What have you done with your fragments? Jesus told the disciples “Gather up the Fragments” in John 6:1-12. The fragments are the small unused, minute, insignificant idea, dream, business plan, gift or desire that God has given you to create the future he has purposed for you! If you look back in your life and gather every “fragment” of broken venture or an entrepreneurial idea that has crossed your mind, how many baskets would you have today? Today’s fragments have the potential to become tomorrow’s basket. You must see value in your fragments! Jesus saw value in the fragments and told the disciples to gather them up! You will never see value in your fragments as long as you are focused on its state. It is not what it is (now), but what it can become! Likewise the woman at Zarephath did not see that her handful of meal in a barrel could become a cake of a lifetime! Nor was the prophet’s widow enlightened that a cruise of oil was her debt-solution. The prophet’s widow was in debt but she had some fragments 2Kings 4:1-7. A fragment is something insignificant in your hands, which become significant when placed in God’s hand. What are your fragments? What’s in your possession that you have unconsciously overlooked? Let’s take an inventory: fragments are the broken pieces that are full of virtue and potency. Know that a broken piece can feed a larger multitude. That marriage, that business, that child might have been broken - but the fact that there is still life in it - it has potential to create your baskets! Every fragment has potency, but until you see its value, its virtue cannot be released. It is the extent of value that determines the flow of virtue! What you value in life will determine what will flow from you. Secondly, notice that before the fragments were ever recovered, before the bread was ever broken, an environment was created. They were instructed to SIT. Sitting is a place of rest, a place of trust, a place of relaxation. Psalms 23: states …”He maketh me to lie down…” What is your position? Are you sitting or standing? Jesus created an atmosphere of expectation because expectation creates a breeding ground for a miracle; an environment of expectation was created. The people rested in his presence with an appetite of expectancy. Know that our fragments will become baskets when you create an atmosphere of expectation. INSTRUCTIONS - The instruction Jesus gave created baskets of overflow. What instruction are you debating? God does not endorse waste. What are the fragments that you are wasting? A talent, a gift, a business idea? We are constantly praying for a basket of blessing, but unknowingly wasting the fragments in your hands. Instructions schedule the seasons for your life; Instruction is also for construction - God cannot effectively construct your life until you obey the instructions He has given you. In closing, remember that your broken fragments become baskets when you see its value, create an environment, and follow the instructions of your prophet. 2Chronicles 20:20 Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. Know that your prosperity is tied to your belief in your prophet. Had the disciples not believe in their prophet, they would be still hungry today. Keep in mind that today’s fragments can only become tomorrow’s baskets when you gather them up! So let’s gather those fragments in your life! Remain blessed. |
